Motorcyclist dead after collision in Toronto’s north end

Toronto police say a male motorcyclist is dead after being struck by another vehicle in the city’s north end.

Officers responded at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to the area of McCowan Road and Steeles Avenue East.

Investigators said a 42-year-old motorcyclist was struck at the intersection and received severe, life-threatening injuries.

The victim was taken to a trauma centre on an emergency run where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Police said the driver, a 39-year-old man, was making a left-hand turn at the intersection when he collided with the motorcycle rider.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone with dash cam or security footage of the area to call police.
