Ottawa police say they are investigating a “suspicious incident” in the 100 block of Preston Street on Thursday morning.
Police say a call for service came in at around 7 a.m. after a human fetus was reportedly found by a passerby on a bench outside of a barbershop in the area.
After expressing concern for the mother’s health and well being, and urging her to come forward, police said later on Thursday that she has been found.

The mother has sought medical attention, police said in their update.
The police service said it continues to investigate the incident and asks anyone who may have information to call 613-236-1222 ext. 5944.
