Historic artifacts stolen from Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria

Victoria Police say historic artifacts, some dating back to the 17th century, were stolen from Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday night.

Just before 10 p.m. Saturday night, Victoria Police say they received an alarm call at the church for a report of a break and enter. They found a display case inside the church that had been broken into and several items were stolen.

These items included a gold chalice, silver chalice, Canadian coins, small communion plate and a mote spoon.

Forensic Identification Services was called in, and police are now asking the public to be on the lookout for these items.
