An evacuation and lockdown at a terminal in Jean Lesage International Airport near Quebec City due to an individual issuing threats has ended almost two and a half hours after it began Saturday.
Laurianne Lapierre, the media relations advisor for the airport, said the evacuation began around 6:40 p.m. and ended near 9:10 p.m., and operations at the airport are now back to normal.
Quebec City police tweeted that the “operation” concerning an individual uttering threats is now over at the airport.
The evacuation left passengers, visitors and people dropping off passengers waiting outside, and passengers in the arrival zone in lockdown.
Departures were also delayed and road access to the terminal was closed, but both have returned to normal now.
