Man dies after losing control of his motorcycle in Milton: police

Halton Regional Police say a 23-year-old motorcycle rider has died on scene after losing control of his bike in Milton Monday morning.

Police said the crash occurred on Lower Base Line just west of Sixth Line at around 8:21 a.m.

The victim, a man from Mississauga, was located by a friend who called emergency services, said police. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Halton Regional Police’s collision reconstruction unit took over the investigation.

Police said initial reports indicated that the 23-year-old rider had been travelling eastbound on Lower Base Line in a Honda CBR600RR sport motorcycle when he failed to make the turn and then crashed into a ditch.

The intersection has now re-opened.

Investigators are asking any witnesses to call police at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
