One man shot multiple times in East York

One man shot in East York Sunday evening.

Toronto police were called to the scene of a shooting in the east end of the city just after 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Police said a 29-year-old man was walking down the street when he became involved in an altercation with another man at the intersection of Donora Drive and Meighen Avenue area near Victoria Park Avenue and St Clair East.

Investigators said the suspect took out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times and then fled the scene going southbound on Donora Drive.

Paramedics said the man sustained upper body injuries and was transported to hospital in serious to life-threatening condition. Police said the man is expected to survive.

The suspect is described as a man between 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’8″ to 5’10” and wearing all dark clothing.
