Leeds OPP say during a distracted driving blitz they stopped a driver after catching a glimpse of the movie playing in his windshield.
This was just one of numerous incidents in which Leeds OPP say they caught drivers using electronics during a province-wide distracted driving campaign last week.
Between March 11 and March 17, Leeds OPP say they stopped 24 drivers for distracted driving.
Recently, tougher distracted driving penalties were enacted in Ontario. A distracted driving fine now costs $1,000, comes with the loss of three demerit points and a three-day licence suspension.
Leeds OPP say a Quebec man was stopped on Highway 401 when OPP officers noticed the famous MGM lion roaring on a screen allegedly mounted on the vehicle’s windshield. The driver was stopped and charged before he got to watch his movie.
According to Leeds OPP, another driver was stopped on Highway 401 for allegedly using his phone while driving. When the vehicle was stopped, OPP say three passengers inside the vehicle were also openly drinking alcohol.

Leeds OPP say distracted driving can cause serious or fatal collisions on provincial roadways.
