Police looking for witnesses after youth shot on Hamilton’s west mountain

Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting incident on the west mountain.

Officers were called to the Villa Santamaria apartment building at 680 Stone Church Road West just after 1:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon.

Upon arrival, the K9 and tactical unit found a male youth suffering from a single gunshot wound to the forearm.

He was transported to the Hamilton General Hospital with a serious, non-life threatening injury.

Constable Jerome Stewart told reporters that they need witnesses to come forward and that they have received “various levels of cooperation” from people directly involved and/or witnesses.
