Police say 36 motorists were charged after allegedly driving on closed roads during the snowstorm on Monday.

Huronia West OPP say on Monday, officers were busy assisting several motorists who had become stranded during the storm.

Police say due to whiteout conditions, several roads in the Clearview, Springwater and Wasaga Beach areas were closed.

Officers say while the roads were closed, several motorists attempted to drive past the roadblocks and closed signs.

As a result, police say 36 motorists were charged with driving a motor vehicle on a closed highway.
