The deadline by the Faculty Association of NSCAD comes after several meetings with a conciliator failed to produce a contract agreement.

Union members voted 97.5 per cent in favour of a strike in a vote held last month.
The current collective agreement expired on June 30 of last year.
The union says it has been in negotiations since July over major unsettled issues including workload, wages, job security and support for caregivers.

It says its negotiating team remains ready to return to “productive bargaining” and hopes the university’s administration will return to the table ready to make changes that can lead to a fair agreement.
