Montreal police‘s SWAT team has arrested a man on Quebec’s most wanted list Saturday morning.
Frédérick Silva, 38, was arrested at 1 a.m. in connection with two murders and an attempted murder.
According to Montreal police spokesperson André Durocher, the arrest was a result of a major investigation involving the SPVM’s major crimes and organized crimes units, the RCMP and the Sûreté du Québec.
“Given the individual’s past and the reasons for which he was wanted, of course we had no chances to take; that’s why our SWAT team was involved. But during his arrest, Mr. Silva offered no resistance,” Durocher explained.
Silva is the main suspect in the murder of a man in the parking lot of a Notre-Dame-de-Grâce strip club in 2017.
According to police, shots were fired following an altercation between two groups inside the club.

The suspect then allegedly drove off in a sport utility vehicle with three other passengers on board.
Silva also faces charges for an attempted murder in a restaurant in the Terrebonne community of Lachenaie in 2017 and another murder in Laval in the fall of 2018.
The 38-year-old has been actively sought by police since the incidents and was the subject of three Canada-wide arrest warrants.
Silva appeared in court via video conference. The case will be heard on Feb. 27.
