Man charged with allegedly assaulting partner and sending intimate images to her family

A Waterloo, Ont., man is facing criminal charges for allegedly beating his partner and sending naked photos of her to her family.

Police say the couple had been dating for eight months and had previously had some problems when an argument broke out between them at a downtown coffee shop.

The argument continued all the way to the woman’s home, where once inside, police say the man damaged several items. Police say the man allegedly pushed the victim up against the wall, breaking a shelf. He then allegedly choked her with both hands before leaving her home.

Police claim that after the altercation, the man sent intimate images of the woman to one of her family members.

After a short search, the accused was found and arrested in a parking lot on Barrie Street.

The 22-year-old man was charged with assault, mischief and publishing intimate images without consent.
