If you’re going to be driving near Dauphin in the near future, Manitoba Infrastructure and Manitoba Public Insurance want you to watch out for some unexpected crossings.
The province said Tuesday that almost 20 deer have been hit recently crossing PTH 10, just south of the junction with PTH 5.
The deer have been crossing the road in large numbers near the Dauphin airport, just south of the intersection, as part of a defined path.
Although there’s already a permanent deer crossing sign near the junction, additional temporary signs are going up this week and will stay there until the spring.
A map of deer collision hot spots is available on MPI’s website.
