No injuries after fire rips through Peterborough south-end townhouse

No one was injured after a fire ripped through a townhouse on Sydenham Road in Peterborough early Tuesday. The cause of a fire remains under investigation – Feb 12, 2019

No one was injured as fire ripped through a townhouse in Peterborough’s south end early Tuesday.

Around 1:30 a.m., Peterborough Fire Services found flames shooting out of an upper window at the back of a two-storey townhouse complex on Sydenham Road.

Acting platoon chief Scott Stanlick says the fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the unit where the fire originated.

An official with Peterborough Paramedics said everyone made it out of the home safely. No one required medical attention.

A representative from the Peterborough County/City Disaster Trust Fund was called to assist the family.

Damage is pegged at $100,000 and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
