SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. – Keeghan Howdeshell scored twice and Morgan Frost had a goal and three assists as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds hung on to beat the Niagara IceDogs 7-6 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.
Jaromir Pytlik, Cole MacKay, Barrett Hayton and Zack Trott also scored for the Greyhounds (34-12-6), who led 7-2 early in the third period.
Jack Studnicka, Jason Robertson and Ben Jones had two goals apiece and Kirill Maksimov tacked on three assists for the IceDogs (32-13-7).
Matthew Villalta turned aside 39 shots for Sault Ste. Marie as Jake McGrath kicked out 28 shots for Niagara.
The Greyhounds went 2 for 8 on the power play while the IceDogs were 2 for 6 with the man advantage.

SAGINAW, Mich. — Damien Giroux and Owen Tippett each scored twice as the Spirit downed London for their fourth win in a row.
Ivan Prosvetov turned away 55 shots while Brady Gilmour and Reagan O’Grady also scored Saginaw (34-14-4).
Kevin Hancock, Liam Foudy and Alec Regula found the back of the net for the Knights (37-8-6), who were 8-0-1 in their last nine. Jordan Kooy made 43 saves in defeat.

HAMILTON — Kody Clark broke a 3-3 deadlock at 13:48 of the third as Ottawa edged the Bulldogs to run their point streak to 11 games.
Sasha Chmelevski, Lucas Chiodo and Alec Belanger also scored and Cedrick Andree made 26 saves for the 67’s (40-9-5), who are 10-0-1 on their run.
Owen Burnell, Arthur Kaliyev and Matthew Strome replied for Hamilton (24-25-5). Nick Donofrio turned aside 21 shots in a losing cause.

SARNIA, Ont. — Liam Hawel had a pair of goals to lead Guelph past the Sting.

ERIE, Pa. — Emmett Sproule tied the game 3-3 midway through the third, then scored the winner in the ninth round of the shootout as the Otters dealt Windsor its fourth loss in a row.
Maxim Golod and Brendan Hoffmann also scored in regulation for Erie (21-28-3). Daniel Murphy stopped 31 shots for the victory.
Chris Playfair, Jordan Frasca and Connor Corcoran hit the scoresheet for the Spitfires (21-28-5). Colton Incze made 28 saves in defeat.

BARRIE, Ont. — Emanuel Vella kicked out 37 shots as Flint built up a 4-0 lead and held on to defeat the Colts and snap a six-game losing streak.

Jason Willms, Ryan Suzuki and Peter Fleming scored third-period goals for Barrie (21-27-3). Jet Greaves made 27 saves in defeat.
