Oh, snow! Winnipeg, southern Manitoba under snowfall warning Sunday

The “will it snow or won’t it snow Sunday” question for Winnipeg has been answered – and the answer is a hearty “Yes it will.”

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the City of Winnipeg and most of southern Manitoba Sunday, calling for 10-15 cm due to a Colorado Low, with more snow closer to the Manitoba/US border.

“The snow will push into the extreme southwestern areas this morning and then spread to the Ontario border by evening,” said Environment Canada.

“The snow will continue into Sunday night. The snow will end west to east early Monday as this weather system moves through the Great Lakes.”

But don’t fret, fellow ‘Tobans, it’s not going to be all that bad.

“This snow will likely be fluffier than average,” said the warning.

Of course, this is a low blow from Mother Nature, especially when Manitoba’s two top weather rodents said Saturday that an early spring is on the way, and after two weeks of extreme cold.
