City of Kawartha Lakes woman charged with drug-impaired driving after 2 collisions

A City of Kawartha Lakes woman has been charged with impaired driving involving two separate collisions on Wednesday.

Kawartha Lakes Police Service say around 4:40 p.m., police responded to a collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Wellington and Lindsay streets in Lindsay.

Police say the officer’s investigation led him to learn that one of the two drivers involved in the collision had been involved in another collision on Queen Street approximately 30 minutes earlier.

The officer arrested the woman on the grounds the driver was impaired by a drug. In their media release, police did not specify what type of drug.

Christine Nicole Rombough, of the City of Kawartha Lakes (in the former Ops Township), was charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.

She will appear in court in Lindsay on March 7.
