Man charged with impaired driving in crash near Cobourg

A Northumberland County man faces impaired-driving charges following a crash just north of Cobourg on Tuesday.

Northumberland OPP say around 9 p.m., officers responded to reports of a sedan in the ditch on Burham Street near Telephone Road, north of Cobourg.

Police say the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Drake Raymond Robert Daniels, 23, from Hamilton Township, was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired, blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Cobourg on Feb. 13.
