Sometimes a good book is hard to put down… sometimes we just lose track of time. Whatever the reason, if you have been late returning your Winnipeg Public Library books and have outstanding fines, here is your chance to make good for a good cause.

Fines paid Saturday Jan. 26 will go towards The Winnipeg Foundation’s Literacy for Life Fund.

“The Literacy for Life Fund is instrumental in providing grants to family literacy programs in Manitoba,” said Ed Cuddy, manager of Library Services.

The Literacy for Life Fund was established by The Winnipeg Foundation, Literacy Partners of Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Public Library in 2003.

It has raised about $32,000 since it first began.
