Police say there’s ‘no danger’ after bomb threat at Mississauga’s Credit Valley Hospital

Peel Regional Police say all restrictions at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga put in place after a bomb threat have been lifted.

“We have checked the property at Credit Valley Hospital and determined that there is no danger to the hospital, patients or staff,” police said in an update posted on Twitter late Tuesday evening.

Police said officers were notified just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday of the threat at the hospital, which is located near Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue West.

A spokesperson said ambulances were still able to attend the hospital, but officers put in place vehicular restrictions while the investigation was underway.

Police said operations in the hospital weren’t impacted.

Anyone with a non-life-threatening injury was asked to avoid attending Credit Valley Hospital Tuesday evening.

In a statement released Tuesday night, Mississauga–Streetsville MPP Nina Tangri encouraged anyone with information to contact officials.

“While I am relieved that police determined there is no risk to the hospital, threats to our community – especially those most vulnerable – are not acceptable,” she wrote.

“I have full confidence that the Peel Regional Police will identify the individual or individuals responsible and hold them to account.”

Meanwhile, anyone with information was asked to call police at 905-453-3311 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
