A former boy scout leader was sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually abusing three teenage boys.

WINNIPEG – A former boy scout leader in Winnipeg has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually abusing three teen boys.

Stuart Garrett Young, who is 40, pleaded guilty to a long list of charges, including sexual assault, sexual exploitation and making child pornography.

Two of his victims told Young’s sentencing hearing they suffer from depression and have trouble forming any type of relationship with people.

Young, who met the teens through the scouts’ program, abused them from 2008 to 2011.

He cried and begged for forgiveness and took full responsibility for his crimes.

Young has also been banned for life from being around children.
