2 men weapons charges after shots fired in Surrey

UPDATE: RCMP said Friday that multiple weapons-related charges have been laid against two Surrey men — 30-year-old Christopher Boucher and 42-year-old Jamie Timbs — in connection with Wednesday’s report of shots fired in Surrey.

Surrey RCMP say two people are in custody after shots were fired in the Guildford area Wednesday night.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 14000-block of 115A Ave. around 6:40 p.m. and found “evidence consistent with shots being fired at a residence.”

Police say witnesses later saw a dark-coloured SUV driving away from the area with its headlights off.

Three people in a black Honda CR-V were arrested, RCMP say.

One occupant was subsequently released while two men remain in custody as officers continue to investigate.

RCMP said there are no reports of injuries and no one was in the residence at the time of the shooting.

Police believe the incident was targeted.

They are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
