Rock Habib-Joumaa identified as victim in Christmas day shooting in North Vancouver

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is looking into a fatal shooting in North Vancouver on Christmas night.

Police found Rock Habib-Joumaa, 25, in the parkade of a building in the 600-block of Seylynn Crescent around 8 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The building was on lockdown for a couple of hours, as dozens of police officers and a K-9 unit entered the building.

IHIT says Habib-Joumaa was known to police, but he did not have a criminal record.

IHIT has not confirmed reports that a second person was injured and transported to hospital.

Investigators said early indications suggest it was a targeted shooting. They are looking for two persons who were in and around that area and may be connected to the shooting.
