Facebook has provided a breakdown of the Marriage Equality profile picture swap campaign that has been going viral this week.

The social network says  they found that significantly more users — roughly 2.7 million (120 per cent) more, updated their profile photo on Tuesday, March 26 compared to the previous Tuesday.

The campaign was launched on Monday by the Human Rights Campaign in light of the same-sex marriage debate at the U.S. Supreme Court.
