14-year-old charged with impaired driving after car hits 2 fences, 7-Eleven and Lethbridge police car

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving after a series of collisions early Thursday, including one with a Lethbridge Police Service vehicle.

Police were called at around 4 a.m., after receiving a report that a vehicle had collided with a fence in the 2000 block of 19 Avenue North.

Police said the vehicle then hit a second fence and headed south in an alley before colliding with the 7-Eleven building on 23 Street North.

When the vehicle continued on, police say the teen then collided with the responding officer’s police vehicle.

The officer in that vehicle arrested the girl, and police later learned the girl was believed to be impaired.

Lethbridge police said the responding officer’s vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The officer only suffered minor injuries.
