Dozens of people gathered Wednesday afternoon to say their final farewells to two-year-old Brielle Morrison.

“All she wanted to do was go to the park and play,” Brielle’s dad, Craig Morrison said. “On movie night she’d grab her blanket and put her head on my knee and fall asleep. She was perfect.”

The little girl’s death is being investigated by the Alberta RCMP major crimes unit after she was brought to the Alberta Children’s Hospital on Aug. 2 suffering serious injuries.

She was taken off life support four days later.

Brielle’s father, Craig Morrison told Global News earlier this week he and the toddler’s mother, Christy Melvin, shared custody of their daughter. He said his daughter was in the care of her mother when she was injured.

“The last time I saw her, I took her camping with my dad, made her Kraft Dinner and then drove her and dropped her off, the next time I got her… she was like that,” Morrison said.

RCMP have still not released how Brielle died, or who was watching her when she was hurt.

There have also been no updates on any potential charges.
