Severe thunderstorm warning ended for Calgary

A thunderstorm warning was issued for Calgary on Sunday afternoon by Environment Canada. Global News

Environment Canada ended Calgary’s severe thunderstorm warning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, since the storms have weakened and moved out of the region.

Earlier in the city, a severe thunderstorm watch was upgraded to a warning shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The storm was just northwest of Calgary heading in a southeastern direction.

The agency said there was potential for strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
