UPDATE: Attempt murder charges laid against 4 inmates at Millhaven Institution for separate incidents

OPP say that a total of four inmates at Millhaven Institution have been charged in relation to two separate alleged attempted murders. OPP

OPP are have released information about a fourth inmate at Millhaven Intitution in Loyalist Township who was also charged with the alleged attempted murder of another inmate.

He joins three men currently in custody at Millhaven Institution, who were charged in relation to what police say was the attempted murder of another inmate.

An investigation involving members of the OPP, Kingston Police Service and Correctional Services Canada into an incident of Aug. 3 led to the charges laid against the three men, but police would not elaborate on the incident.

Don Johnson, 24 years old, was charged with attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Jerry Lewis, 21 years old, and Manpreet Singh, 25 years old, were both charged with being party to the alleged attempted murder.

According to police the three men targeted a 21-year-old inmate, whom police did not name.

The three accused appeared in a Napanee court on Friday.

A similar investigation of an incident on June 21, led to attempt murder charges laid against Jessy Oakley, another inmate at Millhaven Institution.

According to police, 28-year-old Oakley was charged with the attempted murder of a 31-year-old Millhaven inmate, who was not named.

Oakley was also charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Oakley appeared in a Napanee court on Aug. 8.

According to Const. Sandra Barr, there was no indication that the two incidents were related.
