Marijuana plants, open alcohol found in speeding truck in Saskatoon

A speeding driver in Saskatoon has been charged with drug possession and had his truck impounded.

Members of the Saskatoon police traffic unit were conducting enforcement measures Wednesday afternoon in the area of College Drive and McKercher Drive when they spotted the speeding truck.

The driver was pulled over and officers said there was open alcohol and marijuana plants in the passenger side footwell.

A 26-year-old North Battleford man was charged with marijuana possession.

He also faces a three-day roadside suspension and a vehicle impoundment for having a blood alcohol level over .04 to go with his speeding ticket.
