3 facing charges after Saskatoon police seize sawed-off rifle

Saskatoon police say three men are facing multiple gun charges after a sawed-off rifle was seized over the long weekend.

Officers were walking near the intersection of 20th Street East and 3rd Avenue South at roughly 6:50 p.m. CT on Aug. 4, when they spotted a 20-year-old man wanted on several outstanding warrants.

Police said he was arrested and had meth in his possession.

Two other men, 26 and 27, were also arrested at the scene. Police searched their backpack and found a sawed-off rifle, ammunition, as well as break-and-enter tools.

The three men are facing 19 firearms-related charges, possession of break-and-enter tools, and numerous breach charges.

The 20-year-old man is also charged with possession of meth.
