Burlington man suffers life-altering injuries in crash near Drayton

Wellington County OPP say the driver of a pickup truck suffered severe injuries after colliding with a farm tractor northwest of Guelph last week.

Emergency crews were called to the crash on Friday at around 2 p.m. on Wellington Road 12 near Drayton.

Police had said a 51-year-old man was airlifted to hospital in life-threatening condition.

On Tuesday, police confirmed the man from Burlington suffered life-altering injuries and was listed in critical, but stable condition. OPP also clarified the driver is actually 57 years old.

A 52-year-old woman, who was also in the truck, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor and the people in a third vehicle were not hurt.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
