A portion of Listowel Road near Elmira was forced to close Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer carrying a load of turkeys flipped over into a ditch.
Waterloo police say the truck was headed eastbound at around 7:20 a.m. on Listowel Road when it went into the ditch and knocked down a hydro pole. Many in the area were left without power due to the incident.

Woolwich fire chief Dale Martin said the truck, which originated from Wallenstein, was carrying about 1,000 turkeys.
He posted a photo from the scene on Twitter.
Martin said professional turkey-catchers had been brought in to round up many of the birds that were running loose.
Police said the 45-year-old man driving the vehicle was taken to hospital with rib injuries.
