A 54-year-old man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly attempted to evade Hamilton police.
Police say early Thursday morning, they tried to stop a white Ford Escape that was speeding on Upper Sherman Avenue and but the driver took off.
The vehicle was located a short time later, after being involved a collision with a parked car and a utility pole.
Police say the driver tried to flee the scene on foot but was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
Police say there were two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Police say they seized 27 grams of marijuana and crack cocaine during a search. Police add that the Ford Escape had recently been reported as stolen.

George Hasler is facing several charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and resisting arrest.
