The province says they’re re-opening a trail after a hiker was injured by a bear last month.
The Mantario Trail from the Bight Whiteshell Trail Head to Mantario Lake is officially open, just in time for the long weekend.
On July 2, a hiker was on the trail when he was bitten on the back of his leg by a bear that snuck up on him.
Conservation officers searched the area for the bear but did not find it. They also told hikers still on the trail about the attack and closure.

Manitoba Conservation said this is believed to be the first time the Mantario Trail has been closed due to an aggressive bear.
The bear still has not been found and may still be in the area, the province warned Friday.
