HALIFAX – A board of inquiry will hear a discrimination complaint from a Halifax woman who says she didn’t get a job contract because of her pregnancy.
The two-day Human Rights Commission inquiry will start April 8 with an independent adjudicator.

Tammy Quilty-MacAskill alleges the Community Justice Society refused to hire her for a renewal of a contract position because she would be on pregnancy leave.
The society says it did not renew her contract for performance issues.
Commission director David Shannon says the board of inquiry will help the parties understand whether performance issues or the pregnancy were considerations in not granting the contract.
