Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Brantford area as well as Woodstock, Tillsonburg and Oxford County.
The warning was issued before 8:20 p.m. on Thursday. It said a severe thunderstorm is moving eastward quickly. Meteorologists said there could be isolated wind gusts of 90 km/h.
The weather agency issues warnings when storms are likely to produce large hail, damaging winds or torrential rainfall.
Environment Canada urged people to get indoors when thunder is heard.
