A power outage turned the lights off for thousands of people in southwest Winnipeg Thursday morning.
Manitoba Hydro told Global News the early morning outage affected customers south of Bishop Grandin and west of Pembina, near the University of Manitoba.

The cause appeared to be a pole fire. Lights went out around 5 a.m. Thursday.
Hydro said most people had their power back on by 10 a.m.
