Peterborough County OPP took an hour to locate two hikers who reported themselves lost in a conservation area north of Peterborough on Wednesday night.
Around 8 p.m., one of the two Peterborough-area women contacted OPP to say they were lost in the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area in Douro-Dummer Township. The area is about 25 kilometres north of Peterborough.
“They were concerned for their safety as sundown was approaching,” stated Const. Joe Ayotte.
Police launched a search and within an hour, the women were located uninjured in a forested area.
