Hamilton firefighters battled three fires in a 12-hour period on Wednesday, July 18.
The first broke out just after midnight, causing extensive damage at a century-old townhouse on George Street in Hess Village.
Then, shortly after 9 a.m., crews were called to a residential fire at 1627 Trinity Church Road in Glanbrook, and one firefighter was treated for heat-related injuries. The cause of the second blaze has been listed as undetermined.
The third fire took place at midday at a duplex on Balmoral Avenue North in the city’s east end, where the use of a propane torch appears to have started the blaze, causing $200,000 in damage.
No residents were injured in any of the fires.
