A 22-year-old man from Oakville has been charged with stunt driving after he was clocked driving 144 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, police say.
According to South Simcoe police, on July 8 at around 3 p.m., an officer patrolling the 5th Sideroad near County Road 88 in Bradford West Gwillimbury witnessed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed.
Police say the officer measured a speed of 144 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Officers pulled the car over and charged the 22-year-old driver from Oakville with speeding and stunt driving. Police say the man’s license was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded.
According to police, this was the third speeding vehicle to be stopped by the officer. Police say two other vehicles were found to be speeding in the same 80 km/h zone. The other two drivers were clocked at 123 km/h and 129 km/h and were ticketed accordingly.
