A male motorcyclist is dead following a collision involving a dump truck on Highway 407, just east of Toronto.
Ontario Provincial Police said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday on the westbound lanes of the highway near Brock Road.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the dump truck was entering a construction zone when the motorcyclist crashed into it.

“The investigation is still ongoing as to why this collision took place,” Schmidt said.
“We’re looking into speed and the movements of the vehicles prior to the collision.”
Police said the 38-year-old male rider from Whitby was pronounced dead at the scene.
All westbound lanes were closed to traffic for the investigation but reopened at 1 p.m.
