A suspected impaired driver was stopped by RCMP in Cape Breton driving a vehicle without a rear left wheel.

On Canada Day, a member of the RCMP Traffic Services stopped a vehicle “as it was making a loud noise” in Sydney Forks. The officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 4 and noticed that a rear tire was simply missing.
According to police, the car had been driving on a rim.
RCMP say the 28-year-old man from Marion Bridge was taken to an RCMP detachment where he took a breath test and blew 120 mg and 130 mg.

He was charged with impaired driving and his vehicle was towed. Police noted there was also open liquor in the vehicle.
The man will appear in Sydney Provincial Court at a later date, and the investigation continues.
