Nova Scotia’s chief electoral officer has suspended an NDP electoral district association on the south shore.
Richard Temporale suspended the party’s association in Queens-Shelburne effective Friday.
Elections Nova Scotia says the association did not file an annual financial report or annual update of registration, and must do so by July 29 or face deregistration.

It says that an electoral district association is not permitted to accept a contribution or make or receive a transfer while suspended.
The NDP held the riding until the May 2017 provincial election, when NDP candidate John Davis came third behind Liberal Vernon Oickle and the Tory candidate, now-MLA Kim Masland.
