Man accused of throwing chicken poop at Red Hen restaurant that refused Sarah Sanders

Protests outside a Lexington, Va. restaurant that refused to serve White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took a peculiar turn Tuesday, after a man was reportedly arrested for throwing chicken feces at the establishment.

Reginald Scott See was charged with littering and disorderly conduct, ABC affiliate WSET reported. The 51-year-old reportedly yelled “Make America Great Again!” as he hurled the chicken poop at the Red Hen restaurant.

Also spotted among the protesting group were a Donald Trump flag and a sign saying “Homos are full of demons,” according to WSET.

The Red Hen has been closed since Friday, when co-owner Stephanie Wilkinson asked Sanders to leave the restaurant, citing the concerns of gay employees who took issue with the press secretary’s defence of President Trump’s stance towards keeping transgender people out of the military.

The ensuing uproar has resulted in a spate of angry phone calls and negative online reviews directed at similarly named eateries, with Red Hens from Connecticut to Collingwood, Ont. enduring the wrath of Sanders and Trump supporters.

Wilkinson resigned as executive director of local business improvement group Main Street Lexington, news outlets reported.
