OPP investigating report of kitten thrown from moving vehicle in Simcoe

Norfolk County OPP said they are investigating after receiving an animal complaint from a concerned motorist on Tuesday.

Police said an investigation determined that a vehicle was travelling westbound on Queensway West in Simcoe between Elizabeth Road and North Main Street when a kitten was thrown from the vehicle.

Police added that the vehicle then turned off Queensway to travel southbound on Queen Street.

According to police, the concerned motorist brought her vehicle to a halt when she found the kitten.

The kitten was then taken to a local veterinarian where it was revealed the kitten was only six to eight weeks old and had suffered multiple injuries as a result.

The concerned motorist then took the kitten home and contacted police.

Police describe the suspect vehicle from which the kitten was allegedly thrown as an older green-model car. They said a licence plate number has been obtained, but that information has not been released.

Police added that they will be following up with the owner of the car.
