What Riderville means to me.

There's a dramatic difference in the fans here in Riderville vs the Fans in other CFL cities. And I say Riderville because at first I thought that about 95% of the fans that came to the games where from Regina and Moose Jaw. To be truthful, those are about the only 2 cities I was familiar with in the whole province over my 10yrs in the league. The reason being, on my former CFL teams we either stayed in Regina or Moose Jaw. Since I have arrived in Riderville I've learned quickly that this team is supported by the entire province that takes pride in their Riders, therefore giving this province the fitting name of Riderville. I also learned from fans and friends that this province has pulled together over the last 100yrs and made sure that this team strived and thrived through good times and bad times. Sure every fan base in the other CFL cities love their team as well and have their own unique gameday experience. For example, in Hamilton aka Steeltown they have Pigskin Pete and the whole Oskie Wee Wee thing. In Winnipeg they have the history of Buzz and Boomer the Bomber Birds. In Calgary they have the whole Stampede thing going on with the great white horse. In Toronto over the years the old blowing of the ship horn is I have to say pretty unique. In Montreal, well their fans are just party animals at their games. When they're not cheering the Als on, they play some kind of dance music so that they can party with their favorite song being "Put your Hands up In the Air". Ten years same song, it has to be their favorite one Lol. Here in Riderville we have the unique features of the Sea of Green, the Melon Heads, and the Rider Pride Song to name a few. But what's sets the Rider Fans apart from all the other CFL Fans that love their respective teams is that the Rider Fans travel. From the west coast to the east coast and in every CFL city Rider Fans are there in packs, flocks, and bunches by the thousands. It doesn't matter which city it is, they are there. The most impressive fan output I've ever seen was the 2007 Grey Cup game when it had to be at least 40-50 thousands Rider Fans present in "Toronto". It was a home game for the Riders in Toronto and as a member of the Winnipeg Bluebombers, it was loud when we had the ball and very irritating to see so much green. The way the Riders Fans travel and are located in practically every cities make them Canada's Team much like America's Team the Dallas Cowboys of whom I'm a fan of getting the best of both worlds. I say to the Rider Fans of Riderville job well done and you are the Saskatchewan Roughriders, we the players and coaches just get to put on the uniforms and represent you.
