Edmonton police said a toddler found wandering in the north end of the city over the weekend has been returned to his parents and no charges will be laid.
Police said at around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, the young boy was found wandering into traffic on 153 Avenue between 117 Street and 120 Street
The boy was not injured.
“We’re thankful for the kind citizen who found the boy and took care of him until officers could arrive,” said Const. David Beeler.
On Monday, police said the situation was “a series of unexpected and unfortunate events that resulted in the young boy accidentally wandering off.”
Edmonton Police Service Child at Risk Response Team investigated the incident.
