Montreal police investigate overnight shooting in Lasalle

Montreal police responded to a call after gunshots were heard near the corner of  Saint-Patrick and Clément Street around 12:10 a.m. Thursday.

Police say one victim, a 38-year-old man, was targeted while in his vehicle. He managed to escape and was found at a nearby hospital uninjured.

The victim was uncooperative with police officers and he was arrested for drug possession.

One bullet casing was found at the scene of the shooting and bullet holes were found in the car.

“We don’t have a suspect,” said Montreal police spokesperson Véronique Comtois.

“We do believe the shooting was drug-related.”
