A Peterborough man faces several charges including impaired driving following a collision on Friday night.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a collision in the area of High and Frank streets where a car struck a parked vehicle on High Street.
“Occupants of the parked vehicle were transported via EMS to a local hospital for medical treatment,” police said.
While speaking with the driver, officers say they detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath.
“A subsequent breath sample revealed the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle,” police said.
Christopher Gunsolus, 38, of Douglas Avenue, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams blood-alcohol content.
He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving and driving a motor vehicle with no licence. His vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Gunsolus was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 19.
