The fire department was alerted after witnesses saw smoke coming from the truck as it was driving down the road.

Fire officials contacted the company who operates the truck and their dispatcher got the driver to pull over.

The vehicle’s load was dumped out on site so fire crews could put the fire out.

The debris is expected to be loaded back into an open-bin truck to be hauled away.

One lane of traffic was blocked as crews extinguished the fire.
